Trade Projects

At universal granite we carry out various trade projects from kitchen companies to developers, we have over the years carried out projects from 1 installation to 244 installations on the same site, we understand the importance of meeting tight deadlines and schedules, for granite worktops all our installers are cscs compliant health and safety, and backed up with relevant liability insurance.

We will not work from plan on trade projects and carry out relevant templating and surveying to make sure the outcome is at the highest standards required.

We will always give out the best advice on trade projects as like most suppliers over the years we have learned the value of employing skilled stonemasons to achieve the best possible outcome applying common sense and experience means we can adhere to industry standards and more.

We always like to get involved at the earliest opportunity to asses and plan for projects so we can break down a project into the following phases.

1- project planning and stone selection.

2- template and site survey.

3 -processing and inspection.

4- installation.

5 -inspection sign off and protection.

Phase 1 consists of planning the project in terms of product selection, costing and outlining the way the process works from start to completion, also stone selection will be discussed outlining the benefits and down falls of the particular stone selected.

Phase 2 consists of templating the project and tailoring the required design to finalise before processing, at this stage we will also asses access and hazard and risk assessment to ensure that all potential problems have been planned for.

Phase 3 consists of processing from the template, the reasoning behind this is that all works to be carried out in factory environment with state of the art machinery, this achieves a far superior end product, we can then return to site and install without carrying out major works, this also minimises time of installation, a typical installation should take 2 – 4 hours, before the material leaves the factory we will inspect the material and sizes for quality.

Phase 4 consists of installation, the fitters will piece the job like a jig saw so to speak and joint up with the jointing system specified.

Phase 5 consists of a responsible person inspecting the granite and the installation, on being passed a sign off sheet is signed and all relevant paper work to be handed over (care sheets and guarantees) to the client, after this we will protect the granite worktops with corex to minimise potential damage from other trades.
